Extra Heat Pack - Q1 Series

Two parts. One problem: your Weber Q only uses a strip of its plate properly.

The stock burner is a straight tube. It heats a line down the middle and leaves the rest of the plate to catch up, which it never does. The stock regulator runs one fixed pressure, so your knobs can throttle the flame but can't shift the range it works in.

That's why a Q1 has a hot strip and cooler ends, and why the lowest setting still won't sit low enough to roast anything.

This pack replaces both.

The Python Burner — heat across the whole plate

The flame loops the perimeter and returns through the centre, feeding gas ports directly under the middle of the cooking area. The dead zone goes away. You get the full Q1 surface at cooking temperature instead of moving everything to the one spot that works.

Fits Q100, Q110, Q1000, Q1100 and Baby Q on the original mounting points. Five-minute swap.

The adjustable regulator — control over the whole range

Set your baseline pressure at the bottle instead of accepting whatever the fixed regulator hands you. Dial it down and the entire operating range comes down with it, into the territory roasting and slow cooking need. Dial it back to standard for everyday grilling.

Why they work together

The burner decides where the heat goes. The regulator decides how much there is. Fix one and you notice the other — an even plate makes it obvious your low setting isn't low, and a proper low setting is wasted if the ends of the plate are cold anyway.

Done together, the barbecue behaves like a cooker rather than a hotplate with a lid.

On a Q1 the low-heat side of this matters more than it does on the bigger models. A small chamber holds temperature poorly at the bottom of its range, so the combination of even heat and a lower baseline pressure is what makes slow cooking on a Q1 workable at all.
